Jewelry addicts, this one is for you! If you unconditionally love jewels – earrings, rings, necklaces – and you are looking for something special, I know a place for you that is a real gem! ‘Casa Orecchino’ (‘Home of the Earring’ in English) is special for several reasons. The first one is that not many people know about it. The second reason is that it is an apartment, not a store: the home owner Valeria Vomeri opens the doors of her beautiful place making you feel at ease and offering you chocolates and stories. Another reason is that here, honestly, everything is just perfect. Discover with me what you can find in this beautiful place at walking distance from Moscova!
When I was little (I’ve known about Valeria’s jewels and I’ve been buying them for twenty years) I loved playing and organizing the jewelry in the pink drawers. Nowadays, I still love to open them and look at all the items with wonder. Casa Orecchino has everything you will ever need, and even more. Lobe earrings or pendants (and also the very fashionable ‘mono earrings’) hanging on Murano glasses, beautiful necklaces, all kinds of rings and even super glamorous broches.
The style of the jewels is original and suitable for any occasion: from important and elegant pieces to pop or baroque ones, or other romantic options.
The colours palette is also varied going from pastels to neon colours or to monochromatic choices.
Going out without any purchase is fortunately (or unfortunately, depends on the point of view!) impossible: I know it well since I have a jewel box at home that is full of Valeria’s creations only!
Valeria’s apartment is inside a magnificient building in via Pinamonte da Vimercate, at short walking distance from the green metro stop Moscova. My favourite itinerary in this area includes a stop in via Solferino at Zazà Ramen (you will read about it soon), or at Temakinho, and after that shopping session at the Casa Orecchino. Follow my advice and you won’t be disappointed!
After years of ‘life’ in two shops, first in corso Garibaldi and then in via De Amicis, Valeria has decided to open the doors of her place, by appointment only. Send her an e-mail and she will be glad to show you the secrets of her jewels, in a cozy and evocative atmosphere.
Take a seat on the sofa, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and some chocolates, have a chat with the home owner and let her guide you to the best choice for you! Everything in a beautiful place decorated with good taste: vintage pieces of furniture, mirrors and red pannels full of, of course, earrings!
The price of a pair of earrings starts from 40 euros, while a necklace can cost up to 80 euros, depending on the material, that can vary from metals to precious stones, up to rainbow resins, glasses and murrina glasses!
So, are you in for some shopping with me?
