A cocktail, some good fish (with veggie or meat options) and an open-air location: what more could you wish for an aperitivo or after-dinner in Milan? Until the end of September, and seen the success maybe even further after, Langosteria 10 is splitting in three and it is welcoming all fish lovers in via Tortona, where you find Superstudio Più, in the nice environment of the Art Garden, right at the entrance.
Beach umbrellas, stalls at every corner, champagne and cocktails welcome the guests who are looking for a cool place, also temperature wise. I went there few days ago at aperitivo time and I enjoyed a drink with some very scrumptious antipasti. The result? I felt like I was at the Italian riviera by the sea. And for being in Milan this is quite remarkable.
Don’t be surprised if, given the name of the eatery, everything here is about fish. There are six food “isles” offering different specialties: three stalls are dedicated to seafood, one to Manuelina’s focaccia, one to earth delicacies, one stall is for cocktails and the last one is dedicated to Sicilian granita and cannoli. You will be spoilt with options!
I start with saying that I had a very fresh Shibuya cocktail, prepared by the guys from Drinkable with Belvedere vodka, Earl Grey tea, agave syrup, lime juice ad ginger beer. If you are not into cocktails, you can order a nonalcoholic drink or a glass of Veuve Clicquot or Franciacorta.
I really had a hard time choosing between oysters, carpaccio, tartare and fried food, but also clams with tomato mush and seafood and fava beans cream orecchiette.
At the end, since I had plans for a dinner to follow, I moderated myself (!!!) although the temptation of trying everything was big. I ordered a portion of Manuelina’s Genoese focaccia, a true Ligurian delight.
I followed with a king crab à la catalana, that I hadn’t had the chance to try at their bistrot.
Could I miss the tartare? Of course I couldn’t! I followed the advice and chose the palamita one, with a side of capers and tomato confit. A real delight!
I admit I would have loved to try other specialties too, the lobster, the gazpacho and fried fish above all, but I am sure that I will come back other times before the closing!
We are in the heart of the Tortona district, in front of the brand new Mudec, inside Superstudio Più, the location that is dedicated to art and design. The creative atmosphere is present at the Langostria Fish Bar too, thanks to the beautiful iron sculptures by Flavio Lucchini and the design outdoor furniture.
I already told you that I like to have drinks outdoor. I also like a location that is pretty, but informal. From this point of view Langosteria Fish bar is perfect. Wooden floors, light colours, tables surrounded by flowers, a place where you can stop time for a while and forget about the working day: the atmosphere here is the one of summer holidays!
If you don’t feel like committing to the elegant atmosphere of the two ‘bigger brothers’ Langosteria 10 and Langosteria Bistrot, the Fish Bar could be the right place for you. The dishes, all in ‘tapas’ style (don’t expect gigantic portions!), cost between 9 and 15 euros, while cocktails are around 10 euros. A much more affordable price, with the same level of quality of the chosen ingredients! For those looking for a special evening, the advice is to reserve a table in the Pic-nic area, that is set apart and more private.
