When Friday evening finally comes we all feel we have the right for some ‘me time’ and we need somebody to take care of us. Sometimes this somebody can be a good hair stylist, someone who can make you feel relaxed as at home and someone you can boost your selfconfidence with a nice hairdo.
I am not very fond of going to the hairdresser’s, but I couldn’t resist trying My Place Hair Studio, in the very residential neighborhood close to Corso Vercelli. They made me feel like a princess, between warm hair packs, revitalizing treatments and a perfect haircut.
What makes My Place Hair Studio peculiar is that it looks like a home rather than a classic salon. No cold lights, no loud music, and no newbies cutting your hair and looking forward to finishing the task.
Here you’ll find a team of professionals (some of the guys, and the young owner himself, have worked with some of the most famous hairstylists in Italy) working in a warm and relaxing ambient. Armchairs like at home, coffee and tea machine, a beautiful chandelier and a huge mirror in the middle of the room.
If this was not enough, you must know that they only use high quality products, among which the Oribe ones, that is for those who might not know it the Chanel of hair care. I had the chance to try the ‘Magnificent Volume’ treatment, useful for my stressful hair, ruined after draining straightening sessions!
I couldn’t miss a haircut and a wavy hairdo: it is up to you to judge the result!
For once I didn’t complain, also thanks to the skills of the person holding the scissors, the super nice Kerry.
If you don’t know about it, you don’t just pass by. My Place Hair Studio is located in a residential building in via Panizza, close to the metro stop Conciliazione and behind one of the shopping streets of Milan, Corso Vercelli. It is in a neighborhood I personally love and it is easily reachable by public transport.
I don’t know about you, but I have never entered a hair salon with the feeling I was entering somebody’s home. A shabby chic home, with big tiles on the floor, pretend-scraped walls, vintage furniture and even a fridge! From the main room, dedicated to haircuts and blowdrying, you reach the tiny room with washing sinks: dim lights, soft music and a relaxing atmosphere where you can finally stop thinking about your agenda for a while!
Prices are absolutely adequate for the type of products they use and for the type of place. Do not expect the prices of a small neighborhood hairdresser nor those of a chain salon. Nothing unreachable, though. Haircuts are about 35 euros for men and 50 for women, while dyes start from 25 up to 50 euros according to the type of request!
