It’s been a year since Milan has earned a new meat destination: Nordic Grill, a super cute restaurant in Via De Amicis, Sant’Ambrogio area, in the centre of Milan. In addition to the gorgeous interior, this Scandinavian brasserie also offers very special dishes, both at lunch and dinner, but also for Sunday’s brunch. Discover what you can find there!
The highlight is meat of course, especially grilled one. The main dishes are pork ribs with potatoes, chicken, tartares and roast-beef. As a start of our dinner we chose some antipasti tastings that rightaway put us in a good mood: we tried the Norvegian bruschetta (dried cod with potato and parsley), the Nordic burger (steamed potato with smoked salmon and sour cream), Cantabrian anchovies with butter and sauce and smoked raw ham. An abundant dish with a perfect mix of meat and fish.
We then had a carrot soup with ginger (there are many soup options in the menu among which nettle dumplings soup and the rustc soup) and two Nordic Grill masterpieces: the Chuck Flap Nebraska fillet and the Black Angus steak served with baked potatoes.
The meat is juicy, well-seasoned, perfectly cooked: a triumph from every point of view. In addition to that the portions were also very generous: around 200grams, enough to satisfy even the hungriest of guests. The menu also includes exquisite choices such as the Tomahawk Australia and the Chateaubriand!
We concluded the dinner with an apple tatin with vanilla sauce and it was amazing! In case you are vegetarian you will find vegetarian options too, such as the beans burger, or if you prefer fish you can opt for the trout fillet or some Norvegian salmon! There is something for everybody!
Nordic Grill is located in Via De Amicis, in the heart of Milan. Get there with public transport (the area is not the best one when it comes to parking) and get out at the Sant’Ambrogio stop of the green metro line or take one of the many buses (n94) and trams (n2, n14) that crowd this area!
You will love Nordic Grill’s interior and atmosphere, I promise. The restaurant is cozy and simple, inspired by Northern Europe countries. The grill is on (with a great ventilation system), the fireplace and the relax area do the rest. The staff is made of young and very kind waiters and the space is truly big: you won’t risk being ‘spied’ on by the people sitting next to your table!
The bill at Nordic Grill will certainly not be the one you have at a fast food joint or at any usual burger place. Still, considering the pretty interior, the coziness, the central location and the dimensions of the portions, the bill will not be anything too crazy: for a dinner from starters to dessert with a bottle of wine you will spend around 50 euros. A reasonable price, that you won’t mind paying especially after having tried the dishes!
