The 10 Most Beautiful Rooftop Bars in Milan

Everything looks nicer from above. Milan does hardly less so and when the first warm days start to show up every occasion is good for enjoying the city from above. Come with us for a complete city tour: here are the 10 rooftop bars where you can enjoy Milan at sunset!

TERRAZZA TRIENNALE

There is a new restaurant on the roof of Triennale: led by Stefani Cerveni, chef at Due Colombe in Franciacorta, who brings his vision to Milan in an incredible location. Above the famous museum, the first one to be dedicated to design in Italy, you can enjoy a beautiful view on Parco Sempione, with Porta Nuova skyline just close by. The subtitle to the name of the restaurant is ‘Osteria con vista’ (Tavern with a view), it all makes sense!

TRIENNALE DESIGN MUSEUM. Viale Alemagna 6, Milan. +39 02 724341. Open every day from 11:30 to Midnight.

DUOMO 21

Talking of something new: Duomo 21, a new location at number 21 of the most famous piazza in the city, in the setting of the brand new luxury hotel, the TownHouse. Here the restaurant and the lounge bar are open until late at night, with a priceless view on the cathedral and on Galleria Vittorio Emanuele!

DUOMO 21. Piazza Duomo 21, Milan. +39 02 45397600. Open every day from 11 to 1 am.

TERRAZZA APEROL

Again in Piazza Duomo, if you are looking for something more ‘pop’ and less exclusive there is Terrazza Aperol, that has recently been renewed with design armchairs in Aperol colours and a new bar that dominates over the rest of the interior. Ordering a spritz here will be an enjoyable experience!

TERRAZZA APEROL. Piazza Duomo corner Galleria Vittorio Emanuele – Floor 2, Milan. +39 02 86331959.

BOSCOLO

Are you looking for an aperitivo location in front of (or better, behind) the Duomo? The right place to go to is the rooftop of the Boscolo hotel, five stars even when it comes to the view. I have been at this charming rooftop bar especially for work events, and every time it seemed more magical than the previous one. What to drink at sunset? A ‘boscopolitan’, of course!

BOSCOLO HOTEL. Corso Matteotti 4-6, Milan. +39 02 77679611.

CERESIO 7

Getting at the wrong address is impossible: at number 7 of via Ceresio, on the roof of the historical Enel building, there is the restaurant-bar by Dean and Dan Caten, fashion twins who have the headquarters of their brand here, Dsquared2. Therefore this rooftop bar is one of the trendiest in the city: for the breathtaking view and for the aperitivo on the side of one of the two pools. Modesty is not the keyword here, but in my opinion this is one of the most beautiful rooftop bars in Milan.

CERESIO 7. Via Ceresio 7, Milan. +39 02 31039221. Open every day (restaurant 12:30-15:00 and 19:30-23.00 | American Bar 12.30-1:00).

LA RINASCENTE

You can enjoy a special view on the spires of the Duomo from the rooftop bar at Rinascente, where the overlook on the cathedral is very privileged, from breakfast to aperitivo time. Enjoy some shopping between the different floors of the popular department store and then go up to the last floor: the view is fantastic.

LA RINASCENTE. Piazza Duomo, Milan. +39 02 88521. Open every day from 9:30 to Midnight.

BRIAN&BARRY

Among the last arrivals in the city there is Terrazza 12, a lounge bar at the tenth floor of the beautiful Brian&Berry Building in piazza San Babila. Warm and welcoming, with a vintage flair and last but not least with Milan on the palm on its hand. And then, close by there is Asola, restaurant managed by Matteo Torretta. Did I give you enough reasons to try it?

BRIAN&BARRY BUILDING. Via Durini 28, Milan. +39 02 92853303. Open every day from 12:00 to 1:00 am.

10 CORSO COMO

It has been influencing trends for the last twenty years in Milan, and it couldn’t be without an appropriate rooftop bar. The roof garden of 10 Corso Como is one of my favourites. Silent (strange enough there aren’t many people ever, maybe because there aren’t proper directions to it, there is a winding staircase but nobody seems to know much about it), full of green and plants and with a view that mixes innovation (with the Unicredit skyscraper) and the classic (with beautiful homes): a must visit!

10 CORSO COMO. Corso Como 10, Milan.

LA TERRAZZA DI VIA PALESTRO

Facing the park at Porta Venezia, on the fourth floor of the Swiss Center in Milan, La Terrazza di Via Palestro has an elegant room with a roof garden that is made with attention to the smallest details. This amazing place is perfect for ending a working day or week!

LA TERRAZZA DI VIA PALESTRO. Via Palestro 2, Milan. +39 02 76028316. Open every day (Mon-Fri 12:30-14.30 and 18:30-23:30, Sat 18:00-24:00) except on Sundays.

TERRAZZA MARTINI

Another terrace dominating over the Duomo and the roofs of the city is Terrazza Martini, iconic place in Milan since 1958. On the last floor in Piazza Diaz, the fifteenth, there is a luxurious interior and a beautiful view, some of the reasons why many celebrities have been coming here. You don’t want to be the last one to come here, don’t you? Try to crash in some party: the rooftop bar is open for private events only!

TERRAZZA MARTINI. Piazza Generale Armando Diaz 7, Milan.
